Closed-circuit television (CCTV) is a system of connected surveillance cameras that feed information back to a station where they can be monitored. Most systems capture and store video and photos, or upload them to a database.

CCTVs may be monitored or unmonitored. Common system capabilities include movement tracking, alerts, face detection, heat detection, and object detection. Additional capabilities may include Gunshot detection and two-way audio.

Information captured by CCTVs can be saved and stored, checked against databases, and shared with Fusion Centers. CCTV cameras may also be streamed to various viewing stations including Real Time Crime Center (RTCC)s, Area Crime and Community Intelligence Center (ACCIC)s, Community Safety Operation Centers (CSOCs), Real Time Analysis and Critical Response (RACR), and local LAPD division stations.
